Accounts Payable Manager manages all activities in the accounts payable function. Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports. Reviews applicable accounting reports and accounts payable register to ensure accuracy. This leader should effectively exhibit JD Finish Lines core values of Customer People Winning Community and Financial Responsibility performing the following key duties:
Manages accounts payable teams (merchandise nonmerchandise and drop ship) and assists them with reaching the departments goals and objectives.
Assists with developing new procedures for purchase order and payment processing that will enable staff to complete their task accurately and timely.
Oversees accounts payable recordkeeping.
Ensures expense coding voucher preparation and check issuance are accomplished accurately and timely.
Ensures compliance with company controls.
Prepares reviews and balances weekly monthly quarterly and yearend reports in support of the Financial Statements and as needed for other departments to assist them in completing their department reports.
Directly manages employees.
Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems of direct reports.

Education and/or Experience Bachelors degree (B.A. from a fouryear college or university and 5 7 years experience in Accounting and Finance including managerial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills: Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint or Google Suite equivalents.
Communication Skills: Strong oral & written skills good interpersonal & consultative skills good listening skills the ability to communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders from the business and technical communities. Ability to effectively present information and effectively respond to questions via telephone email written communications and in person.
