We work with Mining Light Metals Hydro Electric Cement Aggregates WWTP Utilities DOE Manufacturing and Wood Products. We are currently looking for experienced Senior Power Engineers to work and grow with us at our Liberty Lake WA and our Helena MT locations.
This fulltime position is available on site in Liberty Lake WA or Helena MT with an annual salary in the range of $90000 to $130000. Base pay depends on jobrelated skills knowledge and experience and the role is eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
About Your Work:
You will work with other engineers designers and clients to develop electrical power related systems for our clients. Youll have the opportunity to power factories sawmills mines manufacturing plants and hydroelectric facilities. Your creativity is required.
The best candidates will apply their extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of power engineering assignments and related fields. They will also use advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.
Essential Responsibilities:
Technical
Applies a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of power engineering.
Performs and coordinates power distribution and/or substation design short circuit load flow arc flash and protective device coordination studies and development of oneline plan drawings cable schedules interconnection drawings schematics etc.
Reads and interprets power system construction and installation drawings.
Develops equipment specifications and construction specifications.
Provides recommendations for change management within active projects.
Independently evaluates selects and applies standard techniques procedures and criteria.
Directs and performs fieldwork during project lifecycle (data collection through startup and commissioning of medium and low voltage equipment)
Designs a complete project system component or process and reviews for conformity and quality assurance.
Assists upper level engineering and management as a technical specialist.
Oversees efforts at construction/plant sites and fabrication shops during design phase on an as required basis.
Leadership / H2E & Project Management
Assigns tasks to and directs engineers technicians administrative staff and supports principal engineers.
Manages project team activities communicates changes and progress. Coordinates to complete projects within scope on time and on budget with safety and quality requirements met.
Manages Client expectations during project within contract requirements and manages scope creep.
Prepares scopes budgets and schedules for assignments. Develops and maintains project deliverables lists for all active projects.
Tracks progress of project deliverables to ensure contract requirements are met per schedule.
Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
Actively participates presents and guides project meetings and specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Develops new techniques and/or improves processes materials or products.
Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
Conducts experiments analyzes and interprets data to formulate and solve problems.
Demonstrates best practices as the project technical lead while mentoring engineering and design personnel.
Communications
Represents the organization in communications and documentation pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills.
Regularly interacts with clients customers officials contractors and others.
Initiates and maintains contact with key engineers and clients/customers or other organizations and companies and is skilled in negotiation of critical issues.
Leads project meetings and makes presentations.
Ownership / Growth / Direction
Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations with farreaching impact on the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of five years experience within Industrial/Utility environment or with a Consulting Engineering firm.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
EIT certification required.
PE licensed preferred or ability to obtain PE within one year of hire.
Proven knowledge of electrical power system modeling techniques. (i.e. ETAP SKM and/or EasyPower)
Substantiated expertise in design of medium voltage industrial and utility power systems.
Working knowledge of construction techniques.
Ability to effectively obtain develop and communicate technical information to both clients and customers.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Must be selfmotivated results oriented and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fastpaced team environment.
Efficient in the use of MS Office software suite: Outlook Excel Word OneNote Project and Access.
Must be a citizen or able to work in The United States without current or future sponsorship.
