You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position reviews investigates and manages highly technical and complex complaints relative to professions and occupations registered by the Board of Technical Registration.
This position requires excellent written and communication skills as the individual is required to work with various professionals assisting in case assessments as well as respondents attorneys and internal staff.
This position is required to review reports manage meetings supervise compliance of Board orders engage in cost recovery appear in administrative hearings and testify as required.
This individual will be responsible to initiate evaluate and prepare a variety of substantial documentation requiring the interpretation and application of laws and rules.
Supervises develops and trains Enforcement Advisory Committee members in matters related to applicable law enforcement procedure administrative code and standards of practice. Participates in or makes assignments for the review of technical evidence based upon availability and professional expertise. Supervises and manages committee meetings at which findings of Practice Act violations occur. Reviews reports prepared by Enforcement Advisory Committee members and prepares recommendations to the Board based upon those reports
Advises and makes recommendations to the Board relative to information evidence and findings discovered during complaint investigations
Determines investigative costs associated with complaint investigations for the purpose of cost recovery
Prepares extensive reports subpoenas and legal documents related to complex technical investigations
Consults with internal legal staff and outside legal counsel and addresses public Inquires and requests
Supervises and manages compliance with terms and stipulations related to Orders of Discipline
Collects examines and preserves case evidence and professional documents
Testifies In court and administrative hearings as an official witness
Conducts interviews of complainants witnesses and respondents
Other duties as assigned as related to the position
Knowledge:
Various state and agency statutes rules standards policy and procedure
Supervisory and case management strategies and techniques
Basic knowledge of all regulated professions
Mediation and negotiation principles
Skills:
Effectively monitor and supervise respondents subject to Board Orders
Courteously and effectively deal with public requests and inquires
Effectively and fairly negotiate informal case settlements
Efficiently operate computers and other office equipment
Ability:
Write clear concise and accurate investigative reports Consent Agreements and Board Orders
Effectively supervise and manage all facets of complaint investigations
Communicate verbally in an articulate professional and logical manner
Work independently and with minimal supervision
A Bachelors degree in criminal justice public administration or similar degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or formal training and/or experience in law enforcement and/or criminal or administrative investigation and five years or more of experience as an investigator in State service conducting regulatory and/or criminal investigations or substantially equivalent experience conducting complex investigations and/or duties for a law enforcement criminal justice or state regulatory agency preferred
