Hours:Various including weekdays weekends holidays and some evenings

Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canadas largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The Park features historical buildings costumed interpreters working antiques and various exhibits that provide insight into the regions past.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Guest Services Manager the Retail Sales Associate Soda Shoppe Associate will work in Harveys Confectionery and will greet and serve our guests in the style of a 1950s Soda Jerk. Dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience you will be a people person bringing high energy and attention to detail every day.
As a Soda Shoppe Associate you will serve premium ice cream sodas shakes and other tasty treats. You will also be responsible for working with guests on the sales floor selling unique candy gourmet chocolates baked goods and fudge.
Responsibilities:
Soda Shoppe (Harveys Confectionery) Operational Support
- Entertain guests by utilizing real Soda Jerk skills
- Operate the soda fountain serve ice cream and other food products to our guests
- Act incharacter in relation to 1950s soda shoppe environment (minimal)
- Process sales handle transactions and perform basic opening and closing duties with accuracy and attention to detail
- Make recommendations to the leadership team on improving the employee and guest experience
- Maintain cleanliness organization and standards (merchandising and food safety) at the location ensuring visual appeal is maintained
- Communicate with management regarding store needs on a daily basis
- Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests staff and volunteers using polite greetings actively acknowledging guests and handling situations positively
- Cover shifts in other retail roles as needed based on staffing requirements and employee absences
- Perform other duties as required
- Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the Park
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Parks Health Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) following safe work practices reporting workrelated incidents injuries and hazards participating in employer training and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy
- Actively support a positive work environment through creating an atmosphere of inclusion engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
- Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity sustainability and a focus on longterm benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Prior food service industry experience would be an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Fluency in English is essential and additional language skills would be an asset
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a clientfaced setting
- All successful candidates (over the age of 18 will be required to go through a Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
Special Clothing and Equipment:
- Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
- Footwear as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department will be provided by the employee.
Special Working Conditions:
- The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors
- This position is physically demanding and the incumbent must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods
Hours of Work:
- The schedule for this position varies
- The schedule will generally include weekdays weekends holidays and some evenings as Heritage Park is open 7 days a week during the operating season
