Police Academy Instructor (parttime): Instructs students in basic advanced and specialized law enforcement classes.
This position pays $30/hr.
Responsibilities:
- 75 Utilizes diverse instructional methodologies based upon proven adult learning principles while presenting and incorporating classroom and practical scenariobased performance outcome training programs.
- 10 Works as a team member in the Police Academy.
- 10 Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
- 5 Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of the Police Academy.

Qualifications:
- TCOLE Basic Instructor certification preferred or must be designated in writing as a subject matter expert in the course by the training coordinator to adhere to TCOLE RULE 215.10: Course Instructor Requirements:
(a) An instructor teaching a course must:
1 hold a valid instructor license;
2 certificate; or
3 be designated in writing as a subject matter expert in the course by the training coordinator.
- Demonstrated ability to engage student in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
- Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Experience tracking student learning outcomes analyzing resultant data and implementing improvement plans.
- Excellent computer and multimedia skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Many classes are held outside on campus and on west campus firearms range PT room in and around vehicles etc.
