Due to the success and growth of the company we are searching for a highly capable Electrical Engineer for the Secondary Structures and Electrical Department.
We have several large detailed design projects in offshore wind as well as a continuous stream of concept and FEED studies plus design work on several innovative concepts (outside of the currently accepted foundation concepts for offshore wind) including floating structures.
Given our teams clients and projects are spread internationally across Europe North America and East Asia you may expect some travelling in relation to your work both nationally and internationally. In addition there may be opportunities during your employment for longterm or shortterm postings abroad.
Areas of responsibility:
As an Electrical Engineer your main assignment will be to support the team in delivering an LV design package which will detail the integration and specification of LV components and associated cabling in the foundation of an offshore wind turbine. This will be across a range of projects from concept through to detailed design and fabrication support. Your daily activities will be:
Design an LV system and the associated interfaces with the tower including the specification of appropriate equipment e.g. junction boxes cabling
Create and deliver LV design reports for example Illumination study power studies lightning protection studies
Be responsible for the design and detailing of earthing and bonding across the structural design and the associated deliverables
Interface with the Secondary structures engineering team for locating LV equipment and ensuring suitable access for operations and maintenance
Produce cable schedules and determine the optimal cable routing including interface with cable tray suppliers
Ensure that the assigned scopes of LV systems are delivered on time are of high quality and are within budget.
Interact with the client HV cable supplier and the rest of the Wood Thilsted project team to determine and specify the required input parameters.
Quality check of the work delivered along with the team.
Determine the installation testing and commissioning procedures and support during fabrication phase
Your background:
You are expected to hold an engineering degree in electrical engineering power or control systems. You have strong analytical skills and more importantly are activated to learn and collaborate in an international working environment with different stakeholders.
It is essential that you:
Demonstrated 23 years experience in working with designing and specifying LV systems and components. Been responsible for the delivery of LV components for example interface drawings cable schedules and relevant reporting;
Demonstrate a strong drive to fulfill your assignments and a willingness to take the initiative when faced with opportunities to exceed expectations.
Are good at communicating effectively in English with colleagues clients consultants and contractors through a variety of media including both webbased telecommunication and facetoface meetings;
Are proactive in your efforts to engage with others and learn;
Have an innovative and solutionoriented mindset and at the same time courage to take on the challenges;
Are a team player;
Are well organized and able to keep track of multiple aspects of work reappraising and reprioritizing activities throughout the project as both yourself and the clients requirements evolve.
Possess excellent numeracy literacy communication and interpersonal skills;
Are fluent in the use of standard office software such as MS Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.;
It is advantageous if you:
have experience with offshore design requirements and standards
have experience with Autocad Dialux or Eplan or other drawing handling software
