PURPOSE
Manage the pre arrival strategic functions of Vessel port stay collaborate with other Strategic functions to ensure Terminal goals are met
Communicate Ops schedules and priorities to Resource Group and Terminal Teams.
Lead the daytoday Strategy work to achieve agreed goals and targets
Be the contact to each terminal regarding Vessel Operation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Be responsible for the port stay strategy for all vessels prior to arrival.
Ensure guidelines are followed by the planners and resource teams.
Liaise with managers and terminal stakeholders to manage any kind of exceptions such as vessel arrivals lateness increased yard density adverse weather
Investigate and document service failures
Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by actively seeking ways to reduce wastes in operations through a better vessel yard and rail strategy
Maintain close coordination with Terminals and line operators to ensure service delivery is on time with the right quality
Ensure the training plan of new colleagues to understand the output of Dynamic group and how to use it in their scope of work.
Provide the plan options to all shifts ensuring the appropriate management decisions are made when needed.
Follow up on daily with terminal berth planners on the different changes in the berth plan to ensure EDIs are provided on time and connections respected
Coordinate on daily basis with yard strategist about the different changes in the yard affecting operations
Ensure Baplies and Stow files are in working order
Provide Vessel Particulars and Lash Plan
Input Volume Forecast
Ensure Maximum Slot Utilization
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in business logistics or a related field.
2 years of experience in maritime terminal operations management is required.
Must have previous experience in vessel planning.
Proficiency in data analytics tools/software is desirable and experience with Navis Systems: N4/XPS is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fastpaced and highpressure environment.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams.
