Location: The Admiral Long Term Care Centre Dartmouth
Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Types: Fulltime PartTime Casual
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
Salary: Up to $53000.00 per year
What youll do
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Work with fellow employees and Management to promote a positive atmosphere for residents their families and visitors
- Work with residents family members and other healthcare providers to develop care plans
- Encourage and assist in maintaining the autonomy of residents whenever possible
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting for residents files incident reports etc.
- Administer client medications according to care plan and document accordingly
- Act as a resource role model and supervisor of other staff while on duty
- Procedure and policy administration
- Orientation of new nursing staff
- Process physician orders and ensure theyre sent to the pharmacy in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality concerning residents staff and organizational information
What youll need
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Minimum 2 years experience in Long Term Care setting or Home Care
- Strong leadership and excellent nursing assessment skills
- Current standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written in English
- Respectful hard working and compassionate above all else
- Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record
- Proof of COVID 19 vaccination
- Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
- Palliative Care course an asset
- Knowledge in Point Click Care electronic charting is an asset
- PIECES Trained preferred
