Job Title: Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine

Location: Marie Curie Hospice Bradford

Salary: NHS Specialty Doctor Pay Scaleper annum pro rata (dependent on experience)

Hours: Weekly hours commitment is negotiable (between 16 and 24 hours per week)

Contract: Fixed term 6 months

Closing Date: 30 March 2025

You will primarily provide medical support assessment and care for hospice outpatients attending our specialist unit in collaboration with the wider team.

This role involves participation in teaching and management activities at the hospice. You will be supported and encouraged to conduct audits/quality improvements and participate in activities related to maintaining clinical excellence within the service.

Previous experience in palliative medicine is desirable but not essential and there will be education and supervision for the successful applicants.

What we are looking for:

  • Full GMC registration a licence to practiceand at least 4 years of fulltime postgraduate training 2 years of which must have been in relevant acute specialities/or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies). MB ChB or equivalent
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communication skills that are sensitive to patients and carers
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.
