Responsibilities of the Position Include: Must perform and report findings for NDT inspections ability to coordinate with and communicate effectively with all parties/departments. Verify the implementation of contract documents Produce inspection reports and maintain detailed records of work performed Mentoring and training of staff as assigned. Recognizes complex problems and assists in bringing to resolution Proficient in applying standard inspection testing techniques and procedures for the verification of material Able to read and interpret complex blueprints customer/vendor specifications and shop drawings Ability to work independently and within a team in a fastpaced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Must be detail oriented have a professional attitude confidentiality and strong ethic values Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections Must be able to use a tape measure and basic metrology equipment I.E (Micrometer scales and calipers) Understand and experience in AWS D1.1 D1.2 D1.6 and D17.1. AlsoNAVSEA experience preferred but not required. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods. Qualifications and Education Requirements: NDT Level II Certification Must be able to meet one or more of the requirements below: VT210 Method Experience Hours PT210 Method Experience Hours MT280 Method Experience Hours - Documented training and classroom hours for each method per SNTTC1A or the ability to meet the requirements within 90 days.
- Experience with GMAW FCAW SMAW and GTAW welding highly preferred
- Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
- Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities and have a dependable work ethic
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form including but not limited to safety rules operating and maintenance instructions quality manuals and procedure manuals
- Ability to use a wide variety of inspection tools
Preferred Skills: - Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of Tech Pub 1688 and AWS welding codes
- Past working experience with Defense contractors
- Experience with Shop Tech E2 ERP system or similar workflow
- Past experience working for or at a fabrication facility
- Current or previous CWI
- Proof of class training time and on the job training time preferred
