PartTime Lecturer Pool
POSITION
The Department of Asian American Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its PartTime Lecturer Pool.
We are seeking experienced wellorganized and studentcentered individuals to teach
We are also interested in applicants who may be interested in these subject areas.
This is a pool of parttime lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PARTTIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

The mission of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at California State University Fullerton is to educate students to be culturally globally socially historically and environmentally astute civically responsible alumni able to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences departments and programs offer students the breadth of a traditional liberal arts education in the humanities and social sciences while preparing them for a wide range of professions for graduate school and for advanced professional study in fields such as law education public administration clinical psychology and business. Students who graduate with a degree from H&SS are assured of having depth of understanding in their field of study and the useful core skills that are most attractive to prospective employers and to success in graduate school.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest college at Cal State Fullerton offering 23 undergraduate degrees 38 minors and 15 graduate degrees. CSUFs Asian American Studies Department aims: 1 to inform students about the history challenges and triumphs of Asians and Pacific Islanders in America including their contributions to this country; 2 to build interracial and interethnic understanding and cooperation; 3 to promote study and research in the area; 4 to contribute to Asian American communities in southern California to develop critical thinking and communications skills; and 5 to prepare students in selected career paths where knowledge and understanding of the Asian American and Pacific Islander experience is important. APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for parttime faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in midDecember; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions parttime faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
Regular performance evaluations of parttime lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances syllabi assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
