Department: Supply Chain / Procurement / Purchase
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managingprocurement activities for inhouse production and thirdparty purchases inan ethical trading pharmaceutical company. This role involves vendormanagement negotiation cost optimization purchase planning and ensuringtimely availability of raw materials packaging materials and finishedproducts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify evaluate and onboard reliable suppliers and thirdparty manufacturers for raw materials packaging materials and finished products.
- Negotiate pricing payment terms and contracts to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers contract manufacturers and internal teams.
2. Inhouse & 3rd Party Purchase Management
- Coordinate procurement for inhouse production to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Oversee thirdparty purchase agreements and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Monitor supplier performance lead times and compliance with procurement policies.
- Work closely with QA R&D and regulatory teams to ensure sourced materials meet pharmaceutical compliance standards.
3. Costing & Budgeting
- Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure costeffective sourcing without compromising on quality and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain records of purchase orders vendor payments and inventory levels.
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory guidelines (USFDA MHRA WHOGMP etc..
- Maintain and audit vendor qualification documents purchase records and contracts.
- Work closely with the legal and finance teams to ensure all agreements are in compliance with company policies.
5. Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with production planning inventory and logistics teams for smooth supply chain operations.
- Monitor market trends supplier pricing and industry developments to make informed procurement decisions.
- Handle import/export documentation and supplier approvals for internationalpurchases.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
- Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm
- Experience: 8 years in procurement supply chain management or purchasing in the pharmaceutical industry (ethical trading companies preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals raw material API excipients packaging material and thirdparty procurement.
- Proficiency in ERP software (SAP Tally Oracle or similar) and MS Excel.
- Understanding of costing budgeting and supply chain optimization.
- Familiaritywith GMP regulatory requirements and supplier qualification processes.
