Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and resultoriented Apparel Merchandiser with strong business acumen to drive growth for our export house. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of international fashion markets buyer relationships and supply chain management. They will be responsible for handling endtoend merchandising developing business opportunities and ensuring seamless order .
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Buyer Management
Identify and onboard new international buyers brands and retailers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing buyers.
Develop business strategies to increase export orders and expand market presence.
Understand buyer requirements market trends and product expectations.
Represent the company at global trade fairs exhibitions and buyer meetings.
2. Product Development & Costing
Work closely with design teams to develop new collections as per buyer preferences.
Manage fabric and trim sourcing ensuring costeffectiveness and quality.
Prepare cost sheets negotiate prices and finalize orders with buyers.
Ensure alignment with global fashion trends and sustainability practices.
3. Order & Supply Chain Coordination
Manage the entire order lifecyclefrom sampling to production to shipment.
Coordinate with production teams vendors and logistics to meet delivery timelines.
Oversee quality control and ensure all products meet international standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues in production delivery or compliance.
4. Market Research & Competitive Analysis
Stay updated on export trends competitors and emerging fashion markets.
Identify potential markets for expansion including the US UK Europe and Middle East.
Suggest innovations in fabrics techniques and sustainable solutions.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of orders buyer interactions and financials.
Ensure all compliance and documentation (export regulations certifications and quality audits) are in place.
Provide regular reports on business growth sales performance and market analysis.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors/Masters degree in Fashion Merchandising Textile Management or International Business from a reputed institute.
410 years of experience in apparel merchandising/export business development.
Strong network with international buyers and agents.
Expertise in costing price negotiations and supply chain management.
Knowledge of fabric sourcing trims quality control and garment production.
Proficiency in Excel ERP software and merchandising tools.
Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong ability to analyze business trends and create growth strategies.
Willingness to travel internationally for buyer meetings and trade shows.
