The School
The role is within our School of AppliedSciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programminginFine Arts Humanities and SocialSciencesSciences and Animal Health Technology. Through this programmingwe offer a variety of certificates diplomas university transfer coursesas well as a degree in computingscience.
The Role
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires an Anthropology Instructor to teach a range of undergraduatelevel courses across the four fields of anthropology (sociocultural linguistic biological archaeological). The successful candidate will teach a 5/4 load in the fall and winter terms. Instruction will take place on our Grande Prairie campus.
The courses to be taught are
- Introductory Anthropology (three sections)
- Introduction to Biological Anthropology
- Introduction to Archaeology
- Introduction to Social and Cultural Anthropology
- World Prehistory
- Indigenous and Cultural Minorities in the Modern World
- Fantastical Archaeology: Ancient Aliens to Atlantis

Requirements
A Masters degree in Anthropology or related disciplineis required with a PhD preferred. Evidence of successful postsecondary instruction is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Ability to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of and support diverse learners;
- Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies (e.g.videoconferencing learning management systems);
- Studentfocussed;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;and
- A high level of integrity professionalismand accountability.
