Position Summary:
The Esports Social Media Coordinator will lead the social media and public outreach operations for our esports program. Leading in the creation production and posting of content along with connecting our program to industry events and media outlets. Creating publicity both internally and externally while highlighting and showcasing the unique approach to esports that our program provides.
Students this Position Appeals to:
Anyone interested in: assisting in showcasing an esports program that will be a lighthouse for the industry through the application of consciousnessbased sports.
Experience Gained / Advantages for Student:
- Uplevel experience with all social media outlets.
- Cultivate content creation production scheduling and promoting skills.
- Growth of communication skills in writing speaking and creating engaging visuals.
- Gain key exposure and experience with the esports industry along with media outlets and University leadership.
- Strengthen organization communication event promotion and hosting and networking skillswhile gaining industry experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the social media accounts for the esports program.
- Create content for these social media outlets.
- Connect with industry leaders and media outlets to showcase our program.
- Attend and host esports events and meetings to stay connected and create content.
- Attend ConsciousnessBased Sports meeting with MIUs Athletic Department.
Job Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience or passionate interest in the esports industry or an indepth knowledge of the esports community.
- Proven skills in managing social media platforms (Instagram Twitter TikTok etc. including creating scheduling and analyzing content.
- Experience with video or graphic content editing tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere Canva etc..
- Ability to collaborate within a team and contribute to a programs growth and visibility.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with an ability to engage diverse audiences.
Location: Esports Lab (Room 34 Library Basement)
Supervisor: Owen Blake Head of eSports CBS Coach
Owen Blake Ph.D. is a professor of Maharishi Vedic Science as well as the Head of Esports at MIU. Dr. Blake was a performance coach for a toptier Esport team in Europe for several years while collecting data for his Ph.D. investigating the effects of Transcendental Meditation technique on performance and burnout in esports.
