We are seeking aSolarEngineering Studentwithin ourCanadian Buildings Division Toronto Districtto work on some of the most exciting projects currently underway specifically inthe Greater Toronto Area.We are looking for students that are availablefora minimum of 4 months starting in September 2022.
Responsibilities
As a SolarEngineering Student and depending on your assigned project heres how you will contribute to the team:
- Project Coordination
- Coordinates drawings and work specific scope / trades.
- Conducts trade quote reviews verify material quantities verify hours verify rates.
- Gets the chance to actively participate in project meetings.
- Conducts deficiency walks.
- Inputs and updates deficiency logs and Issuing warranties.
- Responsible for taking / coordinating progress photos and updating field drawings.
- Produces asbuilt drawings.
- Field Coordination
- Performs quantity takeoffs and coordinating subtrade work.
- Verifies site conditions and coordinating with drawings.
- Supervises subtrade work.
- Sets up / maintains record keeping.
- Layout site lines and grades using total station.
- Scheduling:
- Has an opportunity to update project schedules and creating manual schedules.
- Creates and updates schedules using Suretrak software.
- Obtains scheduling information from subtrades.
- A chance to create and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
- Monitors Manpower productivity.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required including word processing spreadsheet applications and drafting.
