Job Description
What youll be doing;
As a summer intern with Meridian Energy youll get the opportunity to work on some of New Zealands most iconic hydro and wind generation assets as well as being active in all aspects of the company. The programme will push you to develop real-life business and technical skills.
We only take a small number of interns each year and we only want the best! In return well make sure you get some great hands-on experience. Youll be trusted with owning significant projects and will be supported by a friendly team of experts along the way who will help develop your knowledge skills and professional profile.
We are lucky enough to have 2 available locations (Christchurch or Twizel) and youll be placed at either one of them both with awesome opportunities and unique benefits.
What youll get
A deeper understanding of power systems electrical machines generators transformers and other electrical systems that make our hydro and wind sites run as well as an insight into the world of asset management.
This programme may also open the door to limited opportunities within our Graduate Programme though placement is not guaranteed.
What are we after
If youre studying Electrical Engineering and are currently in your 3rd year then our summer internship is the programme for you! We have a strong preference for elective courses in the area of power systems and electrical machines.
Weve got a strong culture - we like to work hard and have fun whilst were doing it. We live by three How to Bes: Be gutsy be a good human and be in the waka.
