Job Description
AECOM Buildings Places Architectural team is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our Burnaby BC based team.
AECOM Buildings Places Canada (BP Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture all the buildings engineering disciplines landscape architecture urban planning urban design economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include although not limited to: Transit and Municipal Commercial and Institutional projects Justice Education and Government.
This will be a fulltime permanent position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing architectural guidance calculations analysis studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
- May manage various size groups of architects designers and/or specialists.
- May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position candidates must possess no less than:
- University Degree in Architecture (two) 2 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education such as Diploma/Certificate in Architectural Technology 4 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficiency in Revit is a must
- Masters degree is an asset
- Ability to work within in a dynamic multidisciplinary inhouse consultant team
- Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Demonstrated strong creativity in design
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process
- Strong conceptual and technical design skills
- Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the BC Building Code
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Candidate must be dedicated to working hard with an allhandsondeck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately.
