Do you have experience of underwriting and want to join a dynamic team working across multiple lines of business to offer our clients a deep expertise in the Life sciences and technology industry
We are seeking an Underwriter to become a part of Chubbs Italy Industry Practice Underwriting Team. This role will focus on underwriting several lines of business for the life sciences and the technology industry practices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients.
Industry Practices differentiate Chubb as a specialist in product alignment underwriting expertise and service delivery in selected industries. Our Industry Practice offering is about providing tailored specialist insurance solutions with capabilities and products that evolve to meet the changing risks of each industry. Industry practices universe in Italy includes Life Sciences Technology Media & Communication Climate (Renewal energies/Alternative fuel and Climate Technology) and Construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Italian Industry Practice Leader to drive production opportunities including devising strategies to achieve the growth ambitions within ChubbsIndustry Practice Italy.
- Financial Goals:Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of businesses and local business plan.
- Entrepreneurship & initiative: demonstrate entrepreneurship skills to build up a book and be part of the Life Sciences and Technology Industry practices within Chubb
- Portfolio Integrity:Assist in formulating underwriting strategies forecasts and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability. Ensure quality control within the defined area of responsibility by conducting quantitative underwriting reviews managing regular meetings and facilitating peer reviews.
- Product Development:Prioritize and develop insurance products within the Life Siences and Technology sectors collaborating with the Italian product development specialist to improve client retention and generate new business opportunities.
- Producer Management:Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers and both internal and external clients. This role will involve servicing key producers and Life Sciences and Technology clients monitoring business acquisition and retention and maximizing crossselling opportunities.
- Procedures:Ensure compliance with company standards in respect of policy documentation timelines for quoting new and renewal business peer reviews and other compliance issues.
- Chubb Representative:Act as a representative of Chubb and maintain ongoing contact with internal colleagues and clients along with major Life Sciences and Technology clients.
- Technical Ability:Provide technical leadership for underwriting and marketing including risk referrals and portfolio management; serve as a resource regarding unique coverage needs within the evolving Life Sciences and Technology sectors.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3 years in underwriting for either Property or Casualty risks
- Familiarity with handling multilinational accounts.
- Possesses an understanding of the Life Science and/or Technology sector
- Adaptable to developing skill sets related to both Property and Casualty underwriting.
- Experience in underwriting multinational programs is preferred.
- Experience within the Italian Insurance market familiarity with competitors and a proven ability to engage with brokers and clients effectively.
- Broad business skills including strong communication organization IT presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Resultsdriven with the ability to make independent decisions and work autonomously.
- Fluent English native Italian language
