Job Description The MESA Program is an equityfocused intervention that increases academic confidence leadership skills and transferreadiness of economically and educationally disadvantaged students in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics fields. Woodland Community College is seeking a visionary leader to expand the MESA program particularly by seeking ways MESA programs can complement and support Guided Pathways and by developing bridge programs through partnerships with fouryear colleges and universities. BASIC FUNCTION : The MESA Program Director will be responsible for strategic planning and daytoday management and supervision of the MESA program. Major duties include coordinating planning developing and implementing program objectives in compliance with Title 5 and internal policies and procedures. The Director should bring a vision for serving MESA students and for scaling the MESA program so that it serves the college community. In addition the Director communicates with math and science faculty student support services MESA students student organizations related professional societies and campus administrators and MESA programs at regional colleges and universities. The Director will oversee the grant activities following the defined action plan track funds spent and submit periodic reports to the California Community College Chancellors Office CCCCO . DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The MESA Program Director is expected to work in collaboration with college administration community partners high school administrators and staff counselors and students the Office of Admissions and Records and the Colleges math and science faculty to grow the MESA Program ensure quality and increase program enrollment.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications The minimum qualifications for service as an educational administrator shall be both of the following: A Masters degree from an accredited institution in any STEM related field (physics chemistry biology mathematics computer science earth and spatial sciences or the equivalent) One year of formal training internship or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators administrative assignment. License or Certification: Possession of a valid California drivers license.
