Job Description

Job Summary

Our Construction Management team is seeking an Assistant Construction Engineer for the Chicago Metro Region. The Assistant Construction Engineer will perform a variety of tasks and assignments related to roadways transit railroads bridges and transportation related structures in accordance with design specifications and guidelines. This individual will inspect materials; organize and participate in agency coordination and apply techniques to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply standard techniques procedures and criteria to carry out tasks as part of a broader assignment.
  • Inspect bridges including railroad bridge and transportation related structures.
  • Inspect incorporated materials.
  • Ensure compliance with plans specifications and regulations.
  • Assist in setup and maintenance of master project files.
  • Assist in resolution of design/coordination issues.
  • Monitor contractors work progress and schedule.
  • Attend various meetings facilitate various meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Interpret contract specifications and special provisions.
  • Measure and document work performed by contractor.
  • Assist in project closeout asbuilts and punch list.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Client focused always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity always doing the right thing in an ethical fair and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team working together toward technical excellence.


Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment we have provided the base compensation range of$60000 $90000 annually for this position and local market.
