Job Summary:
The Hab Tech 2 position is responsible for providing direct support coaching mentoring and skill development to individuals with developmental disabilities including autism cerebral palsy intellectual disabilities and epilepsy. Support needs range from mild to profound with services primarily provided in Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) and group home settings. The role focuses on enhancing members quality of life by fostering independence encouraging skill development and ensuring their daily care and wellbeing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement activities and programs that promote the development of new skills while maintaining current abilities.
- Assist members with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing toileting dressing eating and attending day or work programs.
- Provide handson support in personal hygiene and grooming routines.
- Perform household tasks such as dusting laundry dish washing mopping disinfecting therapy equipment and wheelchair cleaning.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to members dietary needs ensuring adherence to specialized diets and mealtime techniques.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor members health conditions in accordance with healthcare guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one 1 year of direct care experience in a similar role.
- Compassionate patient and committed to supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established care plans.
- Commitment to upholding members dignity autonomy and personal rights.
