Were seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Accountant to join our client a wellestablished communityfocused nonprofit organization based in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. This permanent role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment with diverse handson duties.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Liaise with Divisional Directors to review and process credit card statements
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of balance sheets
- Monitor spending of funds kept in Trust
- Assist with monthend and yearend close
- Collaborate and contribute to financial statement preparation
- Participate in the annual audit process
- Assist with other assigned projects analysis reports and statements as needed
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Postsecondary education in accounting finance or related field
- 3 5 years accounting experience
- Proven experience in an accounting role; nonprofit experience is a definite plus
- Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
