LEAD OPERATIONAL PLANNER
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Operational Planner is responsible for overseeing a teamof Operational Planners while performing the same daily duties includingreading technical drawings allocating parts into production kits creatingrequisitions for procurement and managing the queue for internally fabricateditems. The Lead Operational Planner ensures that parts are available forproduction proactively addresses potential issues and provides guidancesupport and training to the planning team to maintain smooth and efficientproduction operations.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Overseeand coordinate the daily activities of Operational Planners ensuring tasks arecompleted efficiently and accurately.
2.Readand interpret technical drawings to allocate parts into production kits.
3.Createrequisitions for procurement to purchase required parts and materials.
4.Addinternally fabricated items into the production queue for timely manufacturing.
5.Ensureparts and materials are organized and available to meet production needs andschedules.
6.Proactivelyidentify potential issues and take preventive measures to avoid productiondisruptions.
7.Providementorship guidance and training to Operational Planners to improve skillsand maintain best practices.
8.Troubleshootand resolve material shortages production delays and other issuescollaborating with relevant teams.
9.Collaboratewith procurement production and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflowand alignment of resources.
10.Maintainaccurate records of parts allocation procurement requests and productionqueue statuses.
11.Continuouslyassess processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiencyand reduce disruptions.
12.Actas a subject matter expert providing solutions and advice to resolve complexissues and optimize team performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION EXPERIENCE LICENSES ETC:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficient with Microsoft Word ExcelPowerPoint Outlook and Internet Explorer.
2. Strong leadership and communication skillsto guide and mentor a team of planners
3. Familiarity with bill of materials (BOM)management and kit creation.
4. Knowledge of supply chain managementprocurement and production scheduling.
5. Familiarity with inventory management andprocurement processes.
6. Strong problemsolving skills with theability to foresee and prevent productionrelated issues.
7. Excellent attention to detail andorganizational skills.
8. Strong communication skills to effectivelywork with crossfunctional teams.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is primarily officebased with regularinteractions with production procurement and engineering teams. The rolerequires close attention to detail and the ability to work in a fastpacedenvironment to meet production deadlines. While the position is typicallyofficebased some flexibility for remote work may be required. Occasional sitevisits to the production floor may be required to assess material availabilityor resolve issues directly with the production team.
