SUMMARY:
To provide assistance for children during their lunch program recess time and/or after school. This person must supervise children to ensure a positive safe environment in the lunchroom and on the playground. Work hours may be flexible including possible report times throughout the school day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The employee supervises students during lunch and recess and is directly responsible for their safety and wellbeing.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES RELATED TO CULTURAL COMPETENCE AND EQUITY:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will work both inside for lunch and outside for recess. The employee must be able to work with the public and other workers. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate to loud.
