We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team.We are seeking a FullTime New Patient Referrals/Appointment Coordinatorlocated in ourmidtown Charlotte office. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a medical office with knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to work in an extremely fastpaced environment with a high volume of referrals and appointment requests daily.Must have the ability to apply critical thinking skills to read through medical chart notes and extract pertinent information to apply scheduling criteria and effectively multitask to handle last minute changes that may occur to the providers schedules. The qualified candidate will have an enthusiastic cando attitude with a willingness to learn and give input. - Handles a highvolume of appointment calls for 30 providers in a timely courteous manner. Gathers relevant medical information from the patient to determine the appropriate subspecialty provider.Must have the ability to apply critical thinking skills to read through medical chart notes and extract pertinent information to apply scheduling criteria.
- Works as a liaison between the patient and clinical staff to ensure proper scheduling of appointments.
- Interacts with patients referring physicians and hospital staff by phone fax and email.
- Schedules appointments electronically utilizing a patient portal system for Neurosurgeons Physiatrists and Advanced Practice Providers
- Monitors all schedules for accuracy and gaps.
- Maintains a general knowledge of diagnoses specific to neurosurgery and insurance plans.
- Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
- Applies our values in decisionmaking and interactions with all individuals.
- Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned by changing needs patient flow or physician request.
