Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quickly responds to service requests production line calls and internal customer needs.
- Maintains production areas and ensures all inside and outside areas are free from debris and other hazards providing a safe and clean working environment.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities on all plant equipment on a daily weekly monthly semiannual and annual basis.
- Implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production and maintenance reports.
- Performs routine maintenance and facility upgrades including electrical lighting plumbing air compressors and some HVAC equipment.
- Identifies reported and nonreported facility and production equipment issues; schedules and performs corrective actions as needed.
- Implements new ideas geared at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
- Trains production workers in areas of equipment operation and routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests.
- Places supply orders as needed.
- Enforces Company safety policies to prevent employee accidents and injuries.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associates degree in an applicable field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
- 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Basic measuring capabilities using tape measures and digital calipers
- Experience with mechanical equipment repair is preferred
- Experience with electrical maintenance repair including low and highvoltage equipment is preferred
- Welding experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of common power and hand tools is required
- Metal fabrication skills to repair modify and build fixtures and equipment are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work an altered schedule as needed to accommodate business needs
- Basic Math skills
- Problemsolving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to withstand periods sitting at a desk as needed
- Occasional use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer
- Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently carry objects weighing up to and including 25 pounds
- Ability to push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds
- Ability to withstand exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold
- Ability to crawl bend kneel climb and/or squat
- Ability to occasionally stand/walk
