Job Description
Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiar with BICSI rules regulations and standards.
- Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers copper cable testers fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
- Analyze administer and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
- Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and pointtopoint circuits are documented and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
- Ensure all systems are properly baselined tested and validated in accordance with DISAs STIG prior to deployment.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
- Use cable testing equipment such as cable testers multimeters and optical power meters.
- Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
- Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts including TCP/IP subnetting and VLANs.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces adhering to safety protocols at all times.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- 3 years of related telecommunications experience
- 3 years of experience working as a Cable Technician within the DOD environment
- Education:
- Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education technical training or work experience
- Certifications:
- Related certifications for Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation
- Clearance: Must possess a Secret clearance
