Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
Strong ability to influence and negotiate with trading partner to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients. Independently coordinate placement activities on complex new and renewal business in support of business retention and production goals. Be knowledgeable of applicable coverages carrier guidelines alternative funding arrangements underwriting and legislative changes. Build and grow relationships with clients carrier representatives and fellow World associates.

WORK EPXERIENCE/JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7 to 10 years industry experience in Cyber Technology E&O and Intellectual Property brokerage placement and carrier underwriting; or in combination
  • Experience in providing guidance and mentorship to junior placement associates
  • Complete and thorough understanding of a national insurance brokers sales service and placement process

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comprehensive understanding of Worlds scope of expertise structure distribution strategy and value proposition
  • Broad and diverse knowledge of the global insurance industry marketplace including:
  • Middle market and large complex account segments
  • Cyber Technology E&O and Intellectual Property insurance products
  • Excess and Surplus Lines marketplace and how to access
  • London and Bermuda market facilities
    Program designs including guaranteed cost/first dollar deductible/retention structures liability towers risk management and alternative risk
  • Coordinate placement strategy with World Client Advisers and Account Executives to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients
  • Lead a competitive coverage placement process and demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve appropriate cost coverage and capacity targets for clients and prospective clients
  • Maintain productive and responsive relationships with underwriting managers practice leaders and business development managers of Worlds key Trading Partners
  • Participate as requested in client and prospective client introductory strategic planning and proposal meetings and represent World in a professional and responsive manner
  • Promote utilization of strategic Trading Partners critical to maintaining secure and dependable relationships for World to generate optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients
  • Collaborate with National Placement resources as necessary to ensure clients and prospective clients coverage needs are comprehensively addressed
  • Establish program design recommendations and articulate suggested placement strategies in conjunction with the Client Advisor and/or Account Executive
  • Assist with the preparation of submissions and applications required by the underwriting community
  • Direct submissions to appropriate trading partners and negotiate best in class coverage terms conditions capacity and cost
  • Prepare coverage comparisons based upon quotations and proposals received from underwriters
  • Participate in prerenewal and proposal meetings with clients and prospective clients as needed or upon request by the Client Advisor and/or Account Executive
  • Serve as primary internal source of information concerning market trends pricing practices and other underwriting policies
  • Act as a thought leader on behalf of World on industry panels webinars and social media
  • Assist with placement and insurance program aspects of stewardship reports where required
  • Maintain focus on Worldauthorized workflow and standard operating procedures to support consistency across the World enterprise

  • Collaborate with Practice Leaders Division Leaders and Division Growth & Service Leaders to ensure Placement objectives are conducted in accordance with World corporate objectives
  • Stay aligned with customer acquisition strategies to ensure Placement activity effectively supports growth initiatives
  • Support and embed World workflow processes and procedures
  • Represent World brand to the global insurance marketplace in a professional manner
  • Identify creative ways to work more efficiently with our key trading partners
  • Identify and maintain close relationships with Worlds key trading partners and decisionmakers at regional management level and above
  • Encourage other associates to align with World initiatives values and principles
  • Confident to challenges those whose behaviors conflict with World values and principles

COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office products
  • Midlevel expertise with excel

PROFESSIONAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Preferred insurance designation such as RPLU or CPCU
  • Licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer in resident state

EDUCATION
  • 4year college degree from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent professional designation
