Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
Enterprise DB Server Administrator
The role of the Enterprise DB Server Administrator (senior) entails the administration and maintenance of the Oracle Solaris / Linux infrastructure (RHEL & Oracle Linux) which includes the cloud and all international business units. The suitable candidate should also have the ability to plan and implement new solutions based on business requirements and should have strong networking and development knowledge. Automation will play a big part of your contribution towards building and achieving the vision of this team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration of Linux infrastructure (RHEL & Oracle Linux)
- Administration of the Oracle Solaris infrastructure
- Administration of the OVM for SPARC / OLVM for x86 infrastructure
- Administration of cloud platforms such as AWS Azure etc.
- Automation of repeatable tasks and processes
- Working against project timelines
- Develop and implement new solutions based on business requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Matric Grade 12
- Linux certifications such as LPI RHCE Oracle Linux etc
- Oracle Solaris Certification
- 8 years Linux experience
- 8 years Oracle Solaris experience
- Automation Experience with tools such as Ansible SaltStack etc
- 1 year development experience preferable
- Cloud and container experience
