Description:
Xcel Energy has an opportunity for a longterm internship within the Operation Technology (OT) Support organization. This unique internship will offer access to work with the ADOps Delivery Energy Management System(PSCO EMS Team). The successful candidate will gain insight and exposure to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Compliance requirements and be able to support with proper documentation as well as evidence gathering. Over the course of 18 months 2040 hours weekly) the intern will learn and work on specific requirements within the EMS Team.
ADOps Delivery EMS Organization The intern will develop skills for Application Delivery area and CIP documentation for meeting compliance requirement and provide supportwith daily tasks and needs of Transmission Operations as well as Commercial Operations teams.
This position is for a May 2025. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internships initial term based on the candidates successful performance and Xcels business needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Current student Sophomore Junior level only
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree inthe field of computer science management information systems computer engineering engineering mathematics analytics or business.
- Able to commute to the Lookout Center in Golden CO
- Able to work fulltime during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the spring (up to 20 hours a week)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Access)
- Strong work ethic and initiative.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and has better organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High academic standing GPA of 3.0 or higher.
