Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant you will provide support and guidance to students with autism and ADHD helping them to achieve their full potential in an inclusive and supportive learning environment. All our roles will be Monday to Friday 8:30 3:30
Responsibilities
- Provide oneonone or small group support to students with autism and ADHD assisting them with their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by promoting understanding and empathy among students and staff.
- Monitor and track the progress of students and provide regular feedback to the teaching team and parents or guardians.
- Assist in the modification and adaptation of learning materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for working with students with autism and ADHD and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students parents and colleagues.
- Understanding of the challenges and strategies for supporting students with special needs including knowledge of autism and ADHD.
- Patience empathy and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Previous experience working in a similar role or relevant qualifications in education psychology or a related field is desirable.
DaytoDay
- Provide individual or small group support to students with autism and ADHD either in the classroom or in a separate learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies for supporting students learning and emotional wellbeing.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians providing updates on students progress and any concerns.
- Assist in creating and modifying learning materials to accommodate the needs of students with special needs.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with autism and ADHD.
