This person will be expected to develop and support a wide range of customer service activities for both internal and external departments. Responsibilities include daily duties involving coding errors in Epic Work queues contacting clinics and outside customers for missing diagnosis codes demographic information specimens etc. Resolve problems related to specimen receiving CPT and ICD9/10 coding billing modifiers and laboratory reports. Interact with Clinical and Anatomical Pathology departments and assist in resolving provider/patient issues. Function as a competent personable source of lab information for clinics and outside locations. Excellent Customer Service skill to include phone computer and time management skills.
Associates degree and two 2 years relevant patient financial/insurance services experience in a healthcare related setting working knowledge of medical terminology familiarity with medical coding and excellent written/oral communication skills required.
Knowledge of medical billing requirements experience in laboratory services billing ability to recognize insurance fraud/abuse and previous customer service experience strongly preferred.
