Job Summary
Job Summary: The School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is seeking to fill its distinguished Bedford Visiting Professorship a threeyear contractual (nontenuretrack) appointment that will bring an internationally renowned structural engineer to the school to oversee our interdisciplinary courses designed for architecture and civil engineering students. The term of this position will be August 2025 July 2028. The successful candidate will be expected to teach one day per week (two interdisciplinary courses each semester that are in seminar and studio format) and to organize and participate in an annual international traveling workshop that is typically held at the end of the spring semester. Qualifications
- Masters degree required (doctorate preferred) in engineering (or foreign degree equivalent)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license; Structural Engineering (SE) license preferred
- Evidence of effective teaching
- Extensive practical experience and a record of exemplary leadership in design and delivery of innovative engineering/architectural projects
- Candidates must have expertise in building systems systems integration and in technologies supporting innovative approaches to design and construction.
- Candidates with experience collaborating with leading architectural professionals are especially encouraged to apply
Travel
- This position will organize and accompany the annual Bedford Travelling Workshop Bedford Seminar : Rensselaer Architecture

Expected hiring amount:$50000 per academic year (for 1/2 time appointment)
