Radford University is looking for an innovative and experienced HR professional. We are looking for a strategically minded and solutions focused individual to drive compensation benefits wellness retirement and leave program initiatives. The primary purpose of this role is to manage oversee and analyze all the benefits leave and compensation programs at Radford. You will be responsible for the planning state and federal compliance guidelines policy development communication and the administration of benefits programs. In this role you will also provide compensation expertise related to salary structure design and administration job evaluations and market data trends and develop reporting structures. To achieve the core objectives of the role you will partner with stakeholders across the campus and play an active role in supporting their benefits wellness and compensation analysis needs. You will bring new ideas and innovative approaches to the organization build trust and credibility and inspire solutionsfocused approaches. This role is critical as it ensures a competitive suite of benefits for the attraction and retention of faculty and staff while balancing the financial demands of the organization. Core Responsibilities: Leads the administration and the analysis of the Universitys health and wellness programs. Communicates benefits wellbeing and retirement events and/or meetings to all Radford University employees. Monitors monthly benefit enrollments changes in benefits 403(b)/457 deferral changes or other plan activities. Works with payroll to ensure data integrity and corrects deductions. Conducts new hire orientations and specialized health and wellness meetings when requested. Handles data integrity processes with benefits providers such as semimonthly file feeds and processing. Performs semimonthly contribution reconciliations for all retirement plans and voluntary benefits. Manages direct report with continued process improvements of job duties and continuous communication. Responsible for compensation administration including development of policies and guidelines. Serves as backup to the Benefit Analyst in regards to leave management data entry and communications to payroll.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in benefits administration and HR Information Systems. Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations to resolve issues. Strong interpersonal organizational analytical and communication skills. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds on all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and materials. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws regulations policies and procedures. Experience with current office software and database programs to produce reports and analyze data to support University and HR programs and initiatives. Strong analysis/quantitative skills with the ability to translate analysis and data into actionable tasks or results.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in benefit retirement and leave programs. Experience with PeopleAdmin Banner and Virginia Retirement System VNAV . Relevant experience in higher education or state government. Supervisory experience. HR certification CEBS CCP PHR SPHR SHRM CP SHRM SCP desirable.
