Saint Louis University School of Medicine is a Catholic Jesuit Institution with a long tradition of excellence in teaching research and patient care. The Department of Pharmacology and Physiology maintains a strong record of extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health NIH including a T32 training grant. The Saint Louis University Center for Neuroscience is seeking a highly motivated investigator in pain research for a TenureTrack Assistant/Associate Professor position. The academic home for this position is the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology in the School of Medicine. Candidates must have their own independent research programs individuals with a strong background in electrophysiology systems neurobiology rodent genetics as well as molecular and biochemical expertise are highly encouraged to apply. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree a minimum of two years of postdoctoral studies and a strong publication record. For the Associate Professor level individuals should demonstrate a history of extramural funding excellent publications and a record of successful mentorship of graduate and/or medical students and postdoctoral fellows. Responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a vigorous independent extramurallyfunded research program actively teach neuroscience pharmacology and/or physiology in graduate and medical student curricula and participate in the training of graduate students (MSc PhD) and medical students (MD).
