The Communications Specialist will support the of bioMrieux internal communication programs to build team member awareness understanding and support for Global and Regional strategic priorities. This role will be involved in all operational aspects of the communications function working closely with the Manager and Vice President of Corporate Communications North America. This position is based at the North American headquarters located in Salt Lake City with staff currently utilizing a hybrid work policy 50 percent work from home).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute internal communications plan for multiple stakeholders
- Maintain and publish content across communication channels (internal intranet bioMrieux on board (bob) Yammer email digital screens site posters etc. for team members.
- Maintain and publish Regional material to the U.S. web site.
- Manage email distribution lists to ensure the targeting of content to relevant audiences.
- Develop internal communication drafts and edit messages to finalize with the Manager and Vice President and other supported functions; ensure clarity consistency and tone comply with editorial style guide standards.
- Provide local/regional support for employee events and activities e.g. leadership town halls annual sales meetings webcasts etc. with a focus on technology management.
- Translate (as needed) and make relevant to the local market bioMrieux global messages for operations.
- Regularly liaise with Regional business unit communication leads and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to ensure coordination of communications across businesses (clinical and industry) and sites.
- Participate in annual planning process and quarterly reviews.
- Coordinate payment of all departmental invoices.
- Maintain project trackers editorial calendars etc. (AirTable experience is a plus).
- Support and help ensure communications are aligned with the overall bioMrieux internal communication standards 10
- Assist the Manager and Vice President with raising Regional awareness to corporate brand and writing standards to promote continuity and consistency across bioMrieux North America.
- Maintain and annually update Regional materials presentation fact sheet descriptions department portal etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Communications Journalism Public Relations or Marketing. Or another degree with experience working in a communications role.
- 5 years of relevant work experience in a communications role.
- Effective polished verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful communications including content development and tailoring/targeting communications for different audiences.
- Proven ability to work across functions and on teams.
- Proficiency with software applications including MS Office suite of tools including SharePoint; familiarity with web editing web design and social media platforms.
- Basic knowledge of video and photography production.
- Excellent research interpretive writing editing proofreading presentation and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to turn complex ideas into stories and visual concepts easily understood by a broad audience.
- Abillity to write both short and long form content.
- Work and produce wellwritten and accurate communications under pressure and deliver to deadlines consistently.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with managing events.
- Knowledge of new/emerging technologies and how to use them.
- Ability to work within a matrix organization to get things done.
- Ability to think proactively collaborate effectively and participate in project teams and to work independently with a focus on quality and productivity.
- This position will play a key role in identifying piloting and guiding the integration and use of new technologies and communication methods within bioMrieux and as such must have a strong competency in technology and servicebased solutions.
