Position Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery is currently seeking an Endocrine Surgeon to join the Division of Surgical Oncology Section of Endocrine Surgery. Fellowship training in either Endocrine Surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology with a focused interest in surgical endocrine disease is required. The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated commitment to academic surgery and have a minimum of 34 years of clinical experience. The clinical practice associated with this position will be based at the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. Additional responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate medical education including fellows in both Comprehensive Endocrine Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and must be certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification. Academic rank compensation and leadership opportunities within the program are dependent on qualifications and experience. The Section of Endocrine Surgery has four sites of practice across Southeast Wisconsin including the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center Froedtert Menomonee Falls the Mequon Cancer Center and the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center. The program is one of the highest volume programs for Comprehensive Endocrine Surgery in the state. The program offers multidisciplinary clinical and research collaborations with colleagues in Endocrinology and leads in innovative techniques including robotic adrenalectomy and interventional thyroidology. The Department of Surgery is comprised of 11 divisions including 9 clinical divisions a Division of Education and a Division of Research including nearly 125 clinical faculty. Under the leadership of the Chair of Surgery Douglas B. Evans MD the department is committed to clinical excellence innovative surgical research academic achievement/professional development and surgical education. The Division of Surgical Oncology includes 18 faculty members whose clinical interests encompass surgical endocrine breast skin and soft tissue gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease management.
