Job Description

General Description:Seeking a dedicated and dynamic Athletic Director & Dean of Students to lead our athletic programs and student affairs. This dualrole position requires an individual who is passionate about student development athletics mentoring coaches and fostering a positive school culture. Evaluation:Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education Policy. Performance Responsibilities:Be highly visible dynamic energetic and a positive role model.Promote a positive & inclusive climate.Work with staff to support student wellbeing.Develop and implement intervention plans for students struggling with behavior and attendance.Mediate student conflicts and provide guidance on positive decision making.Communicate & collaborate with staff and community regarding attendance concerns. Enforce school policies & student code of conduct.Implement restorative justice practices & conflict resolution strategies.Organize administer and supervise the interscholastic athletic program.Direct the athletic program in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference (EOAC League) OHSAA and Leetonia EVSD. Attend professional meetings related to Athletic & Attendance Administration of this position.Act as a liaison between coaches community and the administration in all matters pertaining to: scheduling of facilities scheduling of coachs assignments scheduling of officials personnel scheduling of athletic eventsstudent affairs 7 12Convey recommendations or suggestions from members of the athletic department to the building principal and/or central office in matters pertaining to direct responsibilities.Share with the building principal or designee complete reports required by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and/or superintendent including season eligibility lists for all sports teams.Approve schedule and supervise all athletic awards banquets programs and other athletic related events. Schedules must be cleared through the principal.Review and recommend all requests by coaches to attend clinics and other athletic related events.Schedule and coordinate all middle school and high school athletic events contests and tournaments including summer camps and open gyms.Report major problems to the superintendent and appropriate principal.Work closely with head of maintenance as to needs and preparation of all district athletic facilities.Act as liaison between administrators and coaches and the athletic booster clubs.Attend when possible booster club meetings representing the school and serve as a liaison between the school and the organization.Act on any request for fund raising projects by coaches athletes or their supporting organizations.Assist Treasurer with yearend fiscal report and budget for the upcoming year programs.Insure that all expenditures and encumbrances from the athletic account are in compliance with the policies and procedures as directed by the State of Ohio auditors office.Administration and supervision for all home interscholastic contests including police supervision scoreboards P.A. Systems physicians/trainer facilities for officials proper playing conditions of fields gymnasium track etc.Review/recommend materials and equipment needs for the athletic office.Prepare purchase orders and work orders for areas of responsibility.Make all necessary arrangements for use of school fields and facilities.Attend all athletic events required by the OHSAA and league or have another staff member assigned as the school representative.Organize and administer the programs of insurance physical exams and other health and injury aspects of the athletic program.Maintain complete records of all high school athletic contests and award recipients and order awards for all athletic teams.Ensure each coach (head assistant or volunteer) has a valid certificate and updated CPR certification and BCI evaluation.Arrange all details for all visiting teams.Supervise and assume responsibility for distribution of news releases information and publication from the athletic department.Approve all printed programs for sale to the public with opponents roster information for such programs.Assume responsibility for the inventory purchasing cleaning storage and care of all athletic equipment and supplies. Distribute and collect medical kits for each program.Keep an updated equipment inventory.Secure OHSAA contracts for athletic events and officials if necessary.Schedule transportation meals etc. as necessary for away athletic contests.Responsible for canceling and rescheduling athletic events due to weather or other factors after consulting with the high school principal.Responsible evaluation of head coaches and referees annually.Interacts in a positive and professional manner with parents and students.Conduct meetings with all coaches before season begins to discuss athletic policies and coaching responsibilities. Organize report and attend mandatory parent meetings.Work with all department personnel in the area of public relations and publicity of all interscholastic events.Coordinate with coaches any arrangements for physical exams for candidates for athletic squads. Be responsible for associated documentation.Coordinate the National Anthem and Flag Raising at athletic events.Shall perform such other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned or determined by the Board of Education or designee.Gather and share weekly and quarterly eligibility for each team.Monitor students daily attendance. Work with coaches when students are in violation with the student code of conduct.Organize Meet the Bears.Secure game day help including but not limited to ticket takers clock operator chain crew announcer etc.Update and revise coaches handbook.Candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to: Exempted Village School DistrictAttn: Tony DelBoccio450 Walnut St.Leetonia OH 44431Electronic applications are preferred.
