Job Description
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures EALC at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a fulltime nontenuretrack Visiting Assistant Professor for theacademic year starting August 1 2023. We welcome applications from scholars whose primary field of research and teaching is premodern Japanese literature broadly defined to teach four courses 2 courses each semester) including Literary/Classical Japanese. Candidates should indicate in their cover letters other relevant courses they are interested in offering. We welcome interest in teaching Translating Japanese Literature. The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures is committed to hiring candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research teaching and service.
