The role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of North Lincolnshires residents in recognition of the councils priorities and outcomes by keeping residents safe and well across the varied rural and urban landscape of North Lincolnshire.
The Team Leader position is a fulltime permanent post and the successful candidate will provide day to day operational management of staff undertaking a wide range of Environmental Health functions. You will have a detailed practical knowledge of regulating enviro crime and you will understand the effective application of related legislation.
As a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate you will lead and have the management responsibility for a team of officers dealing with a wide range of complaints regarding waste issues domestic noise and statutory nuisance. You will also work with other agencies to address antisocial behaviour concerns in North Lincolnshire and have an excellent understanding of the variety of powers available to tackle these issues in an innovative positive manner.
You will report to the Lead Officer (Environmental Enforcement) and work closely with them on a wide range of projects including the provision of an effective out of hours service; bringing empty properties back into use; ensuring value for money when undertaking work in default of legal notices.
You must have confidence in dealing with the public and be able to deal effectively with difficult situations. You will have the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners. You will be selfmotivated have excellent customer service skills and have a commitment to team working. You will be required to meet deadlines and make informed decisions when faced with conflicting demands.
You will
Be educated to degree level in Environmental Health or other relevant subject or
Hold an accredited qualification in Environmental Health and a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or equivalent or
Be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant knowledge and experience in the functional areas of this post.
You will have a demonstrable track record of motivating staff within a busy operational multidisciplinary team excellent written and oral communication and numeracy skills and be able to provide effective oversight of legal documents and policies produced by the team.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with sensitivity in a political environment with the ability to demonstrate personal authority selfconfidence tact and diplomacy to liaise effectively in potentially confrontational situations.
