Responsibilities
The school seeks candidates to teach primarily undergraduate courses in general biological topics and in their area of expertise. The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 9 credits per semester. The successful candidate is expected to develop an active independent research program involving mostly undergraduate students and to seek external funding. Their research should result in peerreviewed dissemination of work. A small masters program provides additional student opportunities. The successful candidate will also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising recruiting course and program assessment and service to the school college and University.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates with postdoctoral training are preferred. Individuals committed to teaching with inclusive pedagogies that promote active engagement to foster student learning are encouraged to apply.
