Job Description
Location:Houston 4:1 Hybrid Schedule
Job Summary:
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Reinsurance Analyst where youll play a crucial role in managing and analyzing reinsurance accounting activities. Youll work with financial statements ledger accounts and managerial reports ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reinsurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze Loss Triangles for various lines of business.
- Handle inquiries from reinsurers and brokers coordinating responses across departments.
- Compile and post financial data to general ledger accounts preparing reports on facultative treaty and excess of loss coverages.
- Develop work plans for resolving reinsurance issues with missing data.
- Review settlements for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist internal and external auditors with reinsurance matters.
- Proactively resolve reconciliation items related to reinsurer balances.
- Update profit commission and sliding scale calculations.
- Support the commutation process by researching reinsurance transactions.
- Prepare financial reports including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist with banking activities such as letters of credit and collateral management.
- Create ad hoc reports using advanced Excel skills.
- Review quarterly Schedule F files in detail.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred: Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation or progress towards it.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Access PowerPoint Word).
- Strong understanding of reinsurance principles and accounting.
- Excellent communication organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to industry changes.
