Job Description

Location:Houston 4:1 Hybrid Schedule

Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Reinsurance Analyst where youll play a crucial role in managing and analyzing reinsurance accounting activities. Youll work with financial statements ledger accounts and managerial reports ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reinsurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze Loss Triangles for various lines of business.
  • Handle inquiries from reinsurers and brokers coordinating responses across departments.
  • Compile and post financial data to general ledger accounts preparing reports on facultative treaty and excess of loss coverages.
  • Develop work plans for resolving reinsurance issues with missing data.
  • Review settlements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist internal and external auditors with reinsurance matters.
  • Proactively resolve reconciliation items related to reinsurer balances.
  • Update profit commission and sliding scale calculations.
  • Support the commutation process by researching reinsurance transactions.
  • Prepare financial reports including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Assist with banking activities such as letters of credit and collateral management.
  • Create ad hoc reports using advanced Excel skills.
  • Review quarterly Schedule F files in detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation or progress towards it.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Access PowerPoint Word).
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance principles and accounting.
  • Excellent communication organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to industry changes.
