Job Description
- Operates laboratory equipment and performs functions including: calibration preventative maintenance troubleshooting instrument validation studies quality control proficiency testing and documentation.
- Reads interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history diagnosis and clinical condition in order to explain test results. Documents and communicates significant information and special occurrences which may affect test results to the appropriate clinician.
- Routinely checks supplies and reagents in order to ensure adequate supply levels. Ensures that reagents are properly labeled and dated.
- Directs work of laboratory assistants or laboratory services representatives and auxiliary personnel as appropriate.
- Required Bachelors Degree in related field
- 1 year of relevant experience a related field Preferred
- CRTMedical Technologist Certified (MT) ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology Spectrum Health labs except for Toxicology Upon Hire required Or
- CRTMedical Laboratory Scientist ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology Spectrum Health labs except for Toxicology Upon Hire required Or
- CRTAmerican Medical Technologist Certified (AMT) AMT American Medical Technologists Spectrum Health labs except for Toxicology Upon Hire required Or
- CRTClinical Toxicology AACC American Association for Clinical Chemistry Toxicology Dept Only Upon Hire required
