Job Description
RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.
We are hiring a Specialist Medical Scientist into our Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
- To oversee and grow the service for histopathology.
- Deliver effective efficient quality-assured and user-centered services by exercising clinical and strategic leadership.
- Encourage staff members to share a sense of dedication and involvement in the services development.
- Perform any additional tasks that may occasionally be allocated and keep the laboratory management informed of any noteworthy developments within his or her area of responsibility.
- Determine the professional training needs of laboratory personnel in order to provide high-quality laboratory medicine services.
- Determine the internal training needs for clinical and scientific personnel who are in charge of upholding the highest standards of professional practice by these and other personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Expertise in new or sophisticated methods in one or more of the following crucial areas: immunohistochemistry histodissection and cytology; specialized knowledge and experience in the clinical and scientific fields of histopathology.
- Research and development experience.
- familiarity with the quality management system ISO 15189.
- Exhibit a high level of proficiency and focus on the scientific field of histology.
- familiarity with laboratory medicine best practice guidelines and procedures.
- Outstanding IT abilities.

manage and develop the Histopathology service. Provide strategic and clinical leadership which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and user centred service. Develop a shared sense of commitment and participation among staff in the development of the service. Keep the laboratory management appraised of any significant development within his/her area of responsibility and perform such additional duties as may be assigned from time to time
Education
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science from the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Or Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Or Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork Cork Institute of Technology course AND Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Practice
