Position Summary
The Department of Surgery at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applications for a fulltime academic vascular surgeon to serve as Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery. The Division of Vascular Surgery is one of nine clinical divisions within the Department of Surgery and is home to a diverse and accomplished group of vascular surgeons and podiatrists. The new Division Chief will be responsible for leading and advancing the clinical research and educational missions of the division. This leadership position is being recruited as an openrank opentrack appointment at a .5 to 1.0 FTE . Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidates experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will be a nationally recognized leader in vascular surgery with a strong record of clinical excellence academic scholarship and leadership experience. The selected candidate will oversee the divisions strategic vision clinical operations faculty development and research initiatives while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the institution and state to enhance patient care build referral networks and grow the divisions regional and national reputation. Key responsibilities include: * Provide visionary leadership to advance the clinical research and educational missions of the Division of Vascular Surgery. * Oversee the divisions clinical programs and maintain a high level of excellence in patient care. * Mentor faculty members residents and fellows ensuring a strong focus on professional development and academic growth. * Promote and support research initiatives including clinical outcomes research health services research translational science and innovation in vascular surgery. * Enhance collaborations with institutional regional and national partners to expand the divisions impact. * Develop and implement strategies for faculty recruitment and retention. * Maintain an active clinical practice including expertise in both open and endovascular procedures. * Support and contribute to the education of medical students residents and fellows.
