Job Description

Our initial crewed space habitat will be Haven1 scheduled to be the worlds first commercial space station when it launches into low earth orbit in May 2026. Vast is looking for an Integration Technician III 2nd Shift) to support vehicle integration operations including the build of Avionics Propulsion and Structures systems for Haven1 and beyond. This will be a fulltimenonexempt position in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble install and test flight hardware.
  • Use precision calibrated tools torque wrenches micrometers and calipers.
  • Hands on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Perform high pressure pneumatic testing.
  • Perform work according to procedures specifications and test instructions.
  • Use various mechanical tools without instruction.
  • Collaborate with production engineers and quality personnel to develop and document activities.
  • Have a working understanding of standard industry ESD best practices.
  • Ensure all production services are performed on time safely and in a professional manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 6 years of experience in hardware assembly test and/or installation.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace industry aviation military or other highreliability operating environments.
  • Experience in the assembly and testing of propulsion systems avionic components and harnesses.
  • FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license.
  • Experience in a fastpaced production environment with flight hardware.
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity.
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings manuals and reports.
  • NASASTD8739.3 & NASASTD8739.4 certification (currently or previously held).
  • IPCA610 IPC/WHMA620 & IPCJSTD001 (currently or previously held).
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a highpaced challenging work environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with forklifts cranes and heavy equipment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
  • Must be willing to travel when needed from weeks at a time to support vehicle testing and integration (Mojave Ohio Florida).

Salary Range: California

$33 $48 USD

U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS
