POSITION:Financial Accounting Analyst
COMPENSATION: Pursuant to applicable regulations if this job is performed in a relevant State the salary range is $70000 $80000 plus bonus potential. Eligible to participate in the company benefits plan. We offer health vision dental and pet insurance. DIRECT REPORT: VP Operations
SUMMARY:
The Financial/Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and optimization offinancial tools strategy and reporting for a portfolio of student housing real estate assets. This role involvesanalyzing financial data to: Bridge data to realworld actions forecast and benchmark financials tailored to aleasing cycle maintaining financial records and reporting and providing valuable insights to support thedecisionmaking process.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to):
- Analyze financial data including income statements balance sheets and cash flow to:
- Identify and forecast trends
- Investigate and remediate anomalies
- Create opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement annual budgets for multiple assets in multiple markets
- Track and Forecast incoming and outgoing funds between ownership and property
- Works in tandem with counterparts in property level leasing & marketing to provide financially databased insights into overall goal attainment
- Analyze and interpret through reporting any funding or loan status/liabilities
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity with financial systems.
- Evaluate existing financial budgeting processes and identify areas for streamlining andefficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
- Prepare regular budget analysis reports for management and stakeholders.
- Provide adhoc financial analysis and reports as requested.
- Contribute to financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Provide training and support to endusers of financial systems.
- Ensure that users are proficient in using financial software to guide strategic decisions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A 5 day per week commitment to being inperson at our Elmwood Park NJ offices
- A working knowledge of regional multifamily housing operations and seasonal considerationstherein
- 35 years of direct multifamily financial or accounting experience preferred
- Bachelors degree inAccounting Finance or related field preferred
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience either practical or educational as a Financial Analyst Bookkeeper Accountantor similar role preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and other financial software systems.
