Job Details
We are seeking an MST Supervisor to join our new Multisystemic Therapy (MST) team specifically focusing on Child Abuse & Neglect (MSTCAN). MSTCAN is a communitybased program aimed at supporting children and young people to remain safely at home. MSTCAN works with families for 69 months to prevent reabuse and neglect reduce mental health difficulties and increase natural social supports. MSTCAN uses theories such as family systems theory social ecological theory and child development and evidencebased approaches to the treatment of trauma and substance misuse in both children and adults.
The key responsibilities include undertaking line management ensuring the effective delivery of MST in Fife including highly specialist assessment care planning and intensive family intervention service for children and young people who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and their parents/carers. The role involves supporting practitioners in team to deliver clinical treatment aligned with MST principles maintaining clear documentation for review independently managing the caseload with empiricallybased interventions participating in MSTCAN training and consultations and building relationships with community stakeholders to ensure cooperation among service providers. Flexibility and participation in a 24/7 oncall service are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to engage hardtoreach families and defuse difficult situations are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly group and monthly individual supervision for the MSTCAN team to ensure adherence to MST principles and address clinician competency needs.
- Maintain thorough documentation for peer and supervisory review meeting all reporting requirements.
- Provide supportive and corrective feedback to clinicians through role play field visits cotherapy sessions and audio session reviews.
- Ensure therapist accessibility to clients to promote engagement and achieve participation from all key stakeholders.
- Deliver direct clinical training to enhance clinician competency in MSTCAN interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive multisystemic assessments to guide effective treatment within the ecological context.
- Develop and review Clinician Development Plans monthly revising them quarterly.
- Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to ensure a steady stream of referrals and high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with MSTCAN experts to provide feedback resources and training to team members.
- Support weekly MSTCAN consultations by ensuring timely submission of paperwork and active participation in consultations
The Person
- Holds an SCQF level 10 qualification including a postgraduate degree in psychology a masters in social work or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Knowledge and experience of safeguarding/child protection legislation
- Has completed relevant courses and possesses experience in pragmatic therapies CBT trauma treatment and child development.
- Has undergone further specialist training and has experience with specific therapeutic approaches or client groups supported by ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrates skills and experience in team management clinical supervision and line management.
- Has a proven track record of successfully engaging hardtoreach families.
- New workers must register with the relevant regulatory body within six months of their start date.
- Is able to travel across Fife.
