Shift: Days Shift length: 8 HoursPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator has a multifaceted role within Surgical Services incorporating the components of clinical practice staff training/education supervision consultation education and current regulatory standards into the care of the organizations surgery patient populations. The position works in conjunction with the OR Charge nurse providers and other members of the surgery team to support operational flow. This role collaborates with the physician and communicates the surgical plan to staff members. Together with surgery leaders the Surgery Coordinator will be responsible for welcoming new staff and will assist with onboarding. They lead employees support organizational goals and decisions facilitate necessary changes and participate in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization. This person acts as an advisor on demonstrating compliance with regulatory standards in the surgery setting. They assist with developing and managing projects policies procedures and programs that are related to systems within Enloe Health in collaboration with members of the surgery leadership team. The role provides clinical support and guidance to clinicians and staff. They effectively support human resources utilization promote employee satisfaction and support staff development. They work collaboratively with clinical and nonclinical departments and department leadership in the design implementation and use of hospital systems related to surgery services clinical initiatives and provider/staff efficiencies. The role assists with regulatory readiness survey preparation and acts as a resource during survey visits.

Must demonstrate technical competence professional clinical judgment communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis. Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians staff patients and the public. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Must have the ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm efficient and focused. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must have the ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs unitbased QI task forces and actively participates in preceptor programs. Must have the ability to perform as a preceptor in the training of students and new employees and the ability to act as a department resource and a positive role model. Must be able to perform proficiently at intermediate and advanced levels and must meet competency requirements. Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. This position is responsible for agerelated physiological emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients: Pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric.
